John R. Steigauf represents our clients in all types of injury and wrongful death cases stemming from motor vehicle, bicycle and motorcycle crashes, unsafe property conditions, dog bites, construction defects and boating crashes.

John and Scott have successfully tried multiple jury cases to verdict on behalf of personal injury clients and families who are victims of another person or companies’ negligence. Additionally, John has obtained numerous favorable settlements for clients in excess of pretrial settlement offers from insurance companies.

John is active in several local and state lawyers’ groups. He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyer’s Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association and the Lake County Bar Foundation. In 2017, John was appointed by Illinois State Bar President Russell Hartigan to serve on The Young Lawyers section counsel.

John received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Creighton University in 2006 and his Juris Doctorate from Western Michigan University Cooley School of Law in 2009. While in law school, Mr. Steigauf received the Certificate of Merit award in Pretrial Skills and achieved academic distinction multiple times as a Dean’s scholar.
